10-Year-Old’s Diary Shows Complete Misunderstanding Of 3-Act-Structure

Writing every day in her diary as if she weren’t utterly clueless about the basics of storytelling, 10-year-old Amanda Truby is showing a total lack of understanding of the 3-act-structure.

“I’ve never read anything worse than this ridiculous garbage in my entire career, and that’s saying a lot”, said Maurice Wolfe, a script doctor working in Hollywood. “These kids think they can make it just because their shrink told them to write down their traumatic events to deal with their PTSD, but I’m sorry, that doesn’t make them real writers.”

“I enjoy writing down my thoughts, it calms me down and makes me feel more at peace”, said the fifth-grader, who clearly never even heard of the hero’s journey, and of course didn’t even write an outline because she was arrogant enough to think she could simply wing it.

According to sources, Amanda Truby thought it would be a good idea to place her inciting incident at the very end of her so-called story, and didn’t even put any thought into character development. Despite her enthusiasm, she probably won’t find any sort of success with her manuscript, and it will remain just that: a useless manuscript.
